Food Drive
The Salt Lake City Council is hosting a neighborhood food drive benefiting the Food Justice Coalition. Food insecurity affects many of our neighbors. Roughly 13.6% of adults and 16% of children were food insecure in Salt Lake County in 2023, according to Utahns Against Hunger. Our food drive runs from Monday, Dec. 8, through Sunday, Dec. 21. Non-perishable donation locations:
There is a clear bin with a yellow lid at each location. Monetary donations can also be made online. Additional information on the food drive and how to donate can be found at: https://www.slc.gov/council/slc-food-drive/. Snap a free holiday photo this season with Santa Claus! Gather your family, friends, and even your furry companions and swing by City Hall to celebrate this festive time of year. Hosted by District 4 Council Member Eva Lopez Chavez, in collaboration with Kelli Freshman Photography.
Additional information can be found at https://tinyurl.com/SLCD4Santa. The Salt Lake City School District invites the community to join them for open houses at Highland High School and West High School to see the future of these campuses. Each event will highlight the host school, with early design renderings, athletic facility plans, and school-specific building updates.
